We are delighted to announce that Ms. Li TANG and Mr. Hai LIU were promoted to equity partners of Cheng & Peng Intellectual Property Law Office since January 1, 2018.
Ms. Li TANG was admitted to the Department of Thermal Engineering, Tsinghua University for undergraduate study in 1994 when she was only 15 years old, and obtained a master’s degree in Cell Biology from the Department of Biology, Tsinghua University in 2002. She worked as patent examiner and department head for the Patent Examination Cooperation Center of the State Intellectual Property Office of China from 2002 to 2013. As a senior examiner, she had guided the training of over 50 new examiners. She qualified as a Chinese patent attorney in 2011 and qualified as an attorney-at-law in 2017. Ms. Tang has rich experience in patent drafting, prosecution, examination, search, invalidation and infringement analysis in a variety of technical areas, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, genetics, vaccine, microbial fermentation, medical device, food and agriculture. Her working languages are Chinese (native) and English.
Mr. Hai LIU was recommended for admission to the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University for undergraduate study in 1995 for his outstanding academic record, and received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 1999 and a master’s degree in Organic Chemistry in 2002 from Tsinghua University. He further received a master's degree in biochemistry from The Ohio State University in the United States. Mr. Liu qualified as a Chinese patent attorney in 2011. He worked for Beijing Sanyou Intellectual Property Agency Ltd. from 2006 to 2008 as a patent engineer, and worked for Liu, Shen & Associates from 2008 to 2016 as a patent attorney with a focus on chemistry and biology related area. In his 12-year professional career, Mr. Liu has provided patent services to many famous multinational corporations in the United States, Europe and Japan and has extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution. His working languages are Chinese (native) and English.
