Practices

Ms. Li Tang has been practicing as a patent attorney for 7 years and is qualified as an attorney-at-law. Before becoming a patent attorney, Ms. Li Tang had been a patent examiner for more than 10 years.

When working for CNIPA, Ms. Li Tang had examined nearly 1,000 invention patent applications, completed dozens of search reports for utility model patents, and made a lot of patentability analysis, infringement analysis, and patent analysis of specific industry field; she was a mentor of new examiner and guided more than 50 new examiners. Ms. Li Tang is qualified as a chairman of reexamination panel, handled over 100 reexamination cases and invalidation cases; she is qualified as a PCT / GCC examiner and and had rich experience in search and examination of PCT applications. In 2011-2013, as a section director, Ms. Li Tang was responsible for examination guidance, and examination quality control of over 30 examiners of the section. Ms. Li Tang has conducted in-depth research on the Chinese Patent Law and relevant regulations on examination, and is proficient in Chinese patent applications, reexamination, examination of invalidation requests, PCT international search and preliminary examination and response thereof.

Ms. Li Tang has excellent technical understanding and legal analysis skills, and is particularly good at handling difficult cases and cross-field cases. Ms. Li Tang has extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution, patent reexamination, and third-party opinions, and is able to draft English patent applications and third-party public opinions. Ms. Li Tang has helped clients with global patent prosecution, and submitted third-party opinions in China and other countries for clients. Ms. Li Tang also has assisted many investment companies and high-tech companies in patentability analysis, FTO analysis and IP due diligence, and provided Chinese or English reports. Moreover, Ms. Li Tang has handled a number of patent invalidation, patent administrative litigation, patent infringement litigation cases, before the Patent Re-examination Board and courts.
