Xinmin holds the qualifications of a patent attorney and is qualified as an attorney-at-law. He has been working in the patent industry for more than ten years. He has served as a patent examiner for many years and has a composite working experience in intellectual property management in both large-scale enterprises and start-ups. His rich working experience has endowed him with diverse thinking patterns and comprehensive business capabilities in the intellectual property industry, especially excelling in handling various patent practices of enterprises. He mainly provides legal services including patent application and portfolios, patent litigation, patent infringement analysis, and free implementation (FTO) analysis.

After graduating from Zhejiang University, Xinmin worked at the National Intellectual Property Administration for many years, examining hundreds of invention patent applications in mechanical technical field. He is also familiar with PCT international search and preliminary examination, patent reexamination, utility model evaluation reports and search reports, etc. In addition, Xinmin also worked as a patent attorney for foreign enterprises at an intellectual property firm for several years, providing professional intellectual property services to many well-known overseas companies. Before joining Cheng & Peng, Xinmin was an important member of the intellectual property team of a new energy vehicle enterprise and a solid-state battery enterprise. He helped the enterprises with patent mining, drafting, portfolios, filing PCT applications in the field of new energy vehicles, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analysis, and providing intellectual property legal opinions, etc.

Assisting a new energy vehicle enterprise, to be responsible for the patent application of its new energy vehicle product, such as, exploring technical selling points and patent portfolios, and filing PCT applications. Also responsible for patent avoidance design, and FTO analysis of a R&D project product, issued intellectual property legal opinions, and collaborated with external legal team to response to potential patent threats. Furthermore, Xinmin was responsible for the screening and assessment of threatening patents from competitors and the invalidation of patents, also collaborated with an external legal team to initiate multiple patent invalidations.
Assisting a solid-state battery enterprise in establishing and improving an internal patent process, innovation incentive mechanism, patent generation mechanism, and patent evaluation system, and applying for core important patents, to be responsible for the patent application of its key R&D projects, provided FTO analysis for the project samples, and issued intellectual property legal opinions.
