Ms. Xinyan Zheng is a patent agent with a focus in biology and pharmaceutical, and holds Chinese Legal Profession Qualification. She has worked extensively in the patent application arena including patent drafting and prosecution, and also provided support for patent litigations, patent infringement analysis, third-party observations, and Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) assessments, etc. Her expertise spans a range of arts including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, genetics, antibody, vaccine, microbial fermentation, bioinformatics, medical device, food science, and agricultural technology.
Prior to joining Cheng & Peng, Ms. Zheng has interned in the intellectual property, litigation, and corporate securities divisions of several esteemed international and Chinese law firms, where she has participated in resolution of patent infringement disputes, administrative litigation, and intellectual property due diligence, as well as advised clients on matters concerning trademark, copyright and unfair competition. She has also worked for a state-owned enterprise, engaging in legal affairs related to property rights management and providing assistance to government agencies and public institutions.
Ms. Zheng received her degrees of Juris Master, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Economics from Peking University. Her graduate studies were dedicated to competition law and intellectual property law. And as an undergraduate, she focused on her double-major of biological science and economics, with an emphasis on cell biology and molecular biology. She has been acknowledged with the “Excellence in Learning” Award from Peking University, underlining her robust professional background and superior academic capabilities.
