In this golden season, Cheng & Peng Intellectual Property Law Office will participate as an alumni enterprise in a unique Life Science 2025 Graduate Job Fair on the campus of Tsinghua University on November 8. This is not only another key step in Cheng & Peng’s talent acquisition strategy but also a deep recognition of, and expectation for, the outstanding talents in the Life Science field at Tsinghua University.

 

On the day of the job fair, three senior partners of Cheng & Peng, along with the heads of the Human Resources and Marketing departments, will be present for face-to-face exchanges with graduates. They will introduce the available employment opportunities, answer questions, and provide comprehensive job guidance and career planning advice.

 

Open Position: Foreign-related Patent Agent

 

Job Responsibilities:

1. Drafting Chinese patent applications and PCT international applications.

2. Managing and maintaining high-value patents globally.

3. Translating, commenting on, and responding to examination reports from Chinese and foreign patent offices.

4. Handling reexaminations, invalidations, litigation, and third-party opinions on Chinese and foreign patents.

5. Providing global patent early warning and dispute resolution services.

6. Participating in intellectual property due diligence, licensing negotiations, and transactions, while providing opinions on patentability, infringement risks, and responding to consultations.

 

Qualifications:

1. Graduate from a well-known university with excellent academic performance.

2. Master’s degree or higher in biology, medicine, pharmacy, chemistry, mechanics, electronics, computer science, physics, or related fields; preference for doctoral degree holders.

3. Strong language skills, with fluency in both Chinese and English; proficiency in Japanese, German, French, or Korean is preferred.

4. Possession of Chinese or foreign patent agent certification and/or legal professional qualifications is preferred.

5. Experience in patent litigation and due diligence is a plus.

6. Overseas study or work experience in foreign law firms is preferred.

7. A rigorous working style, meticulous attention to detail, and strong team spirit.

 

Open Position: Foreign-related Patent Agent/Lawyer Intern

 

Job Responsibilities:

1. Assist patent lawyers in literature searches, technical comparisons, and providing analytical opinions.

2. Assist patent lawyers in case research and legal topic studies.

3. Assist patent lawyers in translating and proofreading patent documents (Chinese-English translation).

4. Participate in client visits and provide translation services.

5. Under the guidance of patent lawyers, participate in reviewing examination reports from various national patent offices, patent drafting, litigation, etc.

 

Qualifications:

1. PhD or master’s degree candidate from a well-known university with excellent academic performance.

2. Major in biology, medicine, pharmacy, chemistry, mechanics, electronics, computer science, physics, or related fields.

3. Strong language skills, with the ability to use Chinese and/or English as working languages; proficiency in Japanese or Korean is preferred.

4. A rigorous working style, meticulous attention to detail, and good team spirit.

5. Strong interest in legal consulting work, with the intention to pursue a career as a patent lawyer after graduation.

6. Work experience is not required.
